What is a video generation API?
It lets your code create video from a prompt, an image, or an existing clip. Rendering takes a while, so it works as a job: POST /v1/videos/generations returns a request_id, you poll GET /v1/videos/{request_id} until the status is done, then download the file at video.url. Is there a text-to-video API?
Yes. Send a text prompt to the same endpoint and it renders a clip. Duration, aspect ratio, and resolution are request parameters, and a clip runs up to 15 seconds. You can try a prompt in the playground before you write any code.
Can I turn an image into a video?
Yes, that is image-to-video. Add an image field and the still becomes the first frame; the prompt is optional. To keep a person, product, or outfit consistent in a new scene instead, send up to three reference_images with a prompt, which does not lock the first frame. Both modes use the same endpoint and polling as text-to-video. The image-to-video docs have samples.
How is video generation priced?
Per second of rendered video, not per request or by prompt length. Yes. Video is served from https://api.grokified.cyou/v1 with a Bearer API key, like the rest of the API. Generation is submit-and-poll rather than a chat call, so the docs samples use a plain HTTP client.
